Cable TV Expo 2024 : Marking its 25th anniversary, the CABLE TV EXPO 2024 Kolkata, a prominent trade show focusing on digital cable television, broadband, and OTT in India and the Saarc region, is set to host a grand exhibition from 9th to 11 January, 2024, at the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan (Milan Mela), Kolkata. With the Indian broadcast and cable TV market valued at USD 13.61 billion in 2023 and projecting a 7.85% annual growth rate until 2029, this milestone event promises to be a significant gathering.

This edition of the Cable TV Expo 2024 is poised to be the largest in its history in Kolkata, having successfully completed 25 years since its inception in 1997 at the Ice Skating ring. From a modest start with a few stalls and participants, the three-day B2B mega show anticipates attracting over 50,000 visitors from across the country and Bangladesh, featuring 92 stalls, 85 pavilions, and eighty-plus participants at the expansive Milon Mela Prangan,” stated Mr. Pawan Jajodia, Chairman Exhibition, CTMA.
Organized (Cable TV Expo 2024) by the Kolkata-based Cable TV Equipment Traders & Manufacturers Association (CTMA), the three-day B2B mega event, open to the public for free, will see the participation of major multi-system operators (MSOs) and brands associated with the cable television sector in the country. Cutting-edge technologies, products, solutions, and services will be on display throughout the event.
“As the voice of the cable television sector in the eastern region for the past 30 years, CTMA remains dedicated to articulating the needs and demands of the cable television network in India, especially with the Government’s efforts to finalize the Broadcasting Services (Regulation) Bill, 2023, replacing the three-decade-old Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act of 1995,” said Mr. K K Binani, Secretary, CTMA.
More than 10,000 cable operators, MSOs, representatives, traders, manufacturers, channel partners, distributors, broadcasters, and Multi-System Operators (MSOs) from across India and overseas are expected to grace the CABLE TV EXPO 2024.
“Over the years, the Cable TV Expo has consistently showcased the latest technological advancements and changes in the cable television sector to cable operators in the eastern region, earning its status as the largest show of its kind in the Saarc region,” emphasized Mr. Rajesh Doshi, President, CTMA.
“In the face of challenges from competing technologies, the CATV sector continues its growth, reaching new rural areas to provide internet services, alongside entertainment and educational content. CATV networks have successfully overcome infrastructural challenges to expand into untapped rural areas, solidifying their role as a crucial service provider in India,” added Mr. Rajendra Prasad Agarwal, Vice President, CTMA.
Presently, India boasts more than 1500 MSOs, with the cable television (CATV) sector in West Bengal estimated to cover nearly 10 million cable homes, delivering television software and internet services across urban and rural areas.
The 25th CATV EXPO 2024 proudly acknowledges Alliance Broadband and Meghbala Broadband as gold sponsors; MRMPL, SG Beldon, SyRotech, and WishNet as silver sponsors; and CtrlS, Digisol, Extreme, Seanet, and Star as bronze sponsors. The Show receives support from SITI Networks and GTPLKCBPL.
